| Introducing an exciting opportunity to students who either want to learn Chinese language and culture or enroll in a full time American curriculum with Nacel International School System’s (NISS) newest branch school. Saint Paul American School affiliated with Geely University’s Euro American College based on the campus of Geely University in Beijing China. The school is based on the Saint Paul American School model, located on the campus of Hamline University in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
The goal of the school is two fold and offers flexible approaches to either learning Chinese Studies or to pursue high school diplomas in the American system or Chinese system. This is how it works:
If you are interested in learning Chinese language and history, you may join our daytime Chinese Studies program. We offer courses in Chinese language, Chinese history and culture and also courses in the arts. Class size is small and you will be able to meet with Chinese students in the evening and participate in field trips as they are arranged.
If you want to join our dual diploma program and receive an American high school diploma and a Chinese high school diploma, then you may apply to the diploma program and take courses to meet the requirements of a typical American school. In the evenings you will work with our experienced staff and study Chinese and other related courses. We then integrate all of the courses to fulfill the requirements of both diplomas.
In either case we want to prepare you to live and work in a global environment. Our students are part of the G Generation or the global generation. Our students will travel more than their predecessors, will be fluent in more than one language, will work for a transnational company and be able to work across cultures.
Therefore, the curriculum we have developed is based on the American model but has international elements such as promoting the learning of foreign languages, becoming cross-culturally adept, gaining leadership skills, and being ethical citizens of the world.
At the same time, we are aware that our students need to be challenged in science, math and the social science as well as being able to appreciate the arts and keeping physically fit.
All of this is accomplished by a qualified American staff, using modern learning materials in a wholesome, clean and modern facility. Principal David Flannery, Ph.D. will be arriving in China this August to meet parents and students. He will also supervise a special preparatory course for students entering in the Fall 2007 semester. This course will begin on 13 August and will be taught by qualified American teachers. The courses will help students prepare to enter an American school environment. The course will end on the 29th of August.
We hope you will decide to participate in this educational experience. |
